Why Choose Aluminium for Your Windows & Doors?

Choosing the right windows and doors is an important investment that can completely transform your home or building project. Aluminium stands out as the preferred choice for homeowners and architects who value longevity, performance, sleek design, and exceptional value for money. Here’s why aluminium is the ultimate choice:

Slimmer Frames for Maximum Light

Aluminium windows and doors feature ultra-slim frames that allow more natural light into your home. Compared to traditional PVCu frames, REAL Aluminium frames are up to 50% slimmer. This creates a refined, modern look while maximizing light, even in smaller openings or where Georgian bars are used.

Superior Strength for Larger Designs

The inherent strength of aluminium makes it possible to create larger glass panes with fewer bulky profiles. For example, REAL Aluminium Bi-folding Doors can accommodate panes up to 1200mm wide, compared to just 750mm for typical PVCu doors. This allows for uninterrupted panoramic views and a modern, open feel.

Exceptional Security and Safety

REAL Aluminium windows and doors are designed with advanced security features to protect your home.

• Independently tested by BSI for security, durability, and quality.

• Equipped with multi-point locking systems featuring hooks and anti-lift bolts.

• Enhanced hinge protection and robust handles for additional safety.

These features ensure peace of mind, keeping your home secure against even the most determined intruders.

Durable, Long-Lasting Colours

REAL Aluminium products are powder-coated for one of the most durable finishes available. Unlike other materials, they won’t rust, peel, or fade, maintaining their sleek appearance for years to come. For coastal areas, a marine-grade finish is also available to withstand harsher environments.

The Perfect Combination of Style and Performance

Aluminium offers slim, stylish frames, exceptional strength, top-tier security, and long-lasting finishes. With its unbeatable durability and aesthetic appeal, aluminium is the ideal choice for windows and doors that elevate your home while delivering lifetime value.

Aluminium Window FAQs

Can aluminium windows be painted?

In theory yes but we would not advise it as the best look will come from the original finish. Our windows are power coated which creates a very hard and resilient finish which should easily last for 20 years or more.

Are Aluminium Windows better than uPVC?

Aluminium tends to be stronger than uPVC, which means that the frame of an aluminium window can have a slimmer profile and larger glass surface compared to its uPVC equivalent. However, aluminium conducts heat and cold and so is not as thermally efficient as wood or uPVC which are far better at reducing temperature transfer through the frame.

Are aluminium windows energy efficient?

Although aluminium windows are strong and very attractive, the material has a weakness in regards to conductivity. At Everest we use our years of experience to reduce this problem. An Everest aluminium window is engineered with a polyamide thermal break (to reduce heat transfer), a warm space bar between the panes and Low-E glass fitted as standard.

Can I have aluminium windows on a listed property?

If you live in a listed property, when replacing any window, you first have to get consent from your local authority. There will be regulations stipulated to what materials i.e. timber frames and or sash style etc. Usually the stipulation is replacing like-for-like. There are a number of aluminium windows that can be made to match suitable properties. First step is to check with your local authority.
